Fishing Report Archives

July 23 2002
I apologize for the late report. Take as a sign that the fishing has been good up here. The rivers are fishing well early and late. By mid afternoon the water temp on the Truckee is up over 70 degrees. Hot! Damn Hot! However, thunder storms last week provided some much needed rain and a few flash floods on the road to the Little Truckee. The inlet at Boca is fishing good and the Little Truckee between Boca and Stampede is fishing good as well. Stopped off at the Prosser Dam and landed some nice smallmouth bass. Haven't been around much this month so second hand report on Milton is that it is still fishing good for experienced flyfishers. The N. Yuba is still fishing good according to friends. I did not fish Boca or Stampede.

Truckee River ***
A dry fly with a dropper has been working here.

Little Truckee River***
Try a Green Drake and move a lot.

N. Yuba***
E/C caddis 12-16

Milton**1/2
Callibeatis, Ants, and Streamers. Can be frustrating.

Prosser Reservoir **
Smallmouth on wooly buggers.

See you on the river,
Brian
