The cool weather here has kept the Truckee river fishing well through most of the day. Morning and Evening are the best but fish can be had all day. Move alot. The water on the Little Truckee has been lowered to 32 cfs. pretty low and the fish are spooky. Went to Milton and found the morning to be good. Some callibeatis and midges were bringing fish up to the surface. The smallmouth in Prosser continue to provide good entertainment. I still haven't bothered to fish Boca or Stampede. Boca is very full and Stampede is very low. A change from the last few seasons. Overall the fishing is still holding up well. Try the morning session while the water is still cool.
Truckee River ***
Early or late midday is slow. For midday try a dry with a dropper nymph. Lots of caddis still around.
Little Truckee River**
Water is low and fish are spooky. Small dries with a quiet approach.
N. Yuba**
Still going. Try the deeper pools and runs early and late. Attactor dries.
Milton Reservoir***
The fish are near the inlet. Small midge and callibeatis. Stealth will help here as well. Can be frustrating if you have never been there before.
Prosser Reservoir**
Smallmouth near the dam on woolly buggers. Heard a few were taken on poppers.
Summer is almost over get out and fish!
