Welcome to summer in the Sierras. The weather has cleared up, it warmed up, and the fish are looking up. The Green Drakes are mostly done on the Truckee don't count them out the fish still dig em. Flows have been ramped up at Tahoe City, Prosser Creek, and the Little Truckee. Pretty much anywhere you want to go is fishing well right now. Hit the lakes early for trout, then bass in the mid-day, and catch the evening caddis hatch on the Truckee. Or, do it reverse. Take plenty of water it is warm out there!

For those that want to fish down around Farad there is road construction and you may not be able to get off at that exit or in some of the other pullouts.

Truckee River**** The flows are perfect mid 200's in town and high 500's at Farad. All the bugs are hatching and matching size, shape, and color is important. Getting a good drift doesn't hurt either. Caddis and Little Yellow Stones have been getting the looks for me lately. For dries: E/C Caddis 14-16, Elk Hair Caddis 14-16, Little Yellow Stones 14, Stimulators 10-14, Green Drakes 10, and Parachute Adams all sizes. For Nymphs: PT, 14-16, Haresear 14-16, Birdsnest 14-16, stone nymphs 10-16, Copper Johns 14-16. and Drake nymphs 10.

Little Truckee**-**** Can be good for those with the right skills. Stealth and a "Precise Drag Free Drift" is key. Look for individual working fish and observe the rise form for clues as to what they are taking. The flows are up from two weeks ago and the fish seem a little more responsive. For dries: Parachute Adams 18-22, BWO's 18-22. PMD's 14-16, and Ants 10-14. For nymphs: PT's 16-20, Burks HBI 14-16, SJW 14, Micro May 16-20, and Copper Johns 16-20.

N. Yuba**** Still haven't made it over there yet. Caddis 12-16, Stones 10,-14 and Ants 10-14 should do the trick.

Milton**** Finally made it up to Milton the other day. Even with the winding conditions those guys could still pick out my little dry fly. Saw a few PMD's but no fish ate the ones I watched. They do still like the ant. For dries: Ant 10-14, BWO's 16-20, Griffiths Gnat 18-20, midge emergers 18-20 and PMDs 14. For Nymphs: PT's 14-20, Brassie 18-20, Zebra Midge 18-20 and Birdsnest 14-18. Streamers in 6-10.

Prosser, Stampede,**- **** The trout fishing has a window early and late. Been getting a few early on streamers and Calibeatis. The smallmouth are ready to play and have been eating almost anything you throw at them. Trout flies and Bass Poppers all took fish. This should be a good place for kids.
