Tahoe Fly Fishing Report Archives
|
January 25, 2010
It is time for a report update. Skiing has been quite good and we are getting the snow and water now that we will need to get through the summer. Talking with most of my scouts fishing has been good until this last week of storms. My fishing last week proved the reports to be accurate and I even caught a few fish. With the latest snow storms the access to various parking could be difficult.
Tip of the Month
Fish the heat of the day 11am-4pm when the air temps are above freezing. This time of year takes a some solar radiation to get things going. A little haze is okay, If the sky is fully obscured by clouds, or snowing the skiing with be better than the fishing.
Truckee The fish are there and enjoying some down time. Small Midges and Beatis (18-22) have been the main course on the menu. Access along Glenshire drive was good last week as well as the Boca inflow area.
Little Truckee
I have not been there due to the access issue. Snowshoes, x/c skis, or snowmobiles are the methods of choice for acccess. Bugs are similar to the Truckee look for the Little Brown Stone to start appearing soon.
Plan to check out The Fly Fishing Show in Pleasanton at the end of February. I will be there in the Truckee Guide Network booth.
Look forward to seeing you,
Brian
