Fly fishing Report Archives
|
July 1, 2004
It's taken a while to get to this update. The fishing here has been excellent and I have been busy as well. The reservoirs are a fishing well early and late for trout and midday off the dams for bass. Trout are on the callibeatis and bass will eat just about anything. With the cooler temps the Truckee has picked up a bit, lots of bugs during the last hour. The Drakes are almost gone now but the Yellow Stones have started and every bug is also hatching. Remember to move if you're not having success. The Little Truckee has been fishing well mid morning and late the PMDs are still going as well as a few drakes. The fish have wised up a bit. Have not ventured into the high country for a few weeks but things should be about perfect for fishing anywhere right now. This is a great time to be up here fishing.
Happy 4th of July
