In general the fishing has been excellent around the area with the cooler nights we have been having. Most of the crowds have gone so it is pretty easy to find your own stretch of river or lake to fish.
Starting on September 15th I will be in Oregon guiding steelhead trips for Morrisons Rogue River Lodge. This is a great trip and awesome place to stay. It is not too late to book your trip for late September or October.

Truckee River **** The Big T is fishing very good right now. The water is coming down a little more every day and should continue to drop until we have some rain. Small is the ticket 16-20 for both mayfly and caddis patterns. There is excellent dry action during the day and into the evenings. You can nymph it you what to but the fish are looking up even it they aren't showing.
LIttle Truckee** These fish need a break!
Prosser, Boca, Stampede Reservoirs*** Great alternative from the rivers. The Callibeatis are still going off the the Trout are into them for a while it the morning. They are also into streamers trolled or stripped very fast on a sinking line. If that doesn't work try fishing for smallmouth they eat trout flies! Bass like rocky structure so the dam faces are a good bet as well and any rocks along the shoreline. Poppers on top, nymphs under an indicator, or deep stripping a streamer will take these guys.
