Fishing Report June 10, 2014

The fly fishing is really good right now on most venues.  Lots of dry fly action and the High Country lakes and streams are starting to happen.  The Green Drakes have also been spotted in various locations on the Truckee River.  Time to get organized and get up here!

Truckee ***   The flows on the truckee in town are 276cfs and at Boca 596cfs.  The water temps mid morning have been in the high 50’s.  All is good here lots of Mayflies and Caddis on the water.  Dries and Dries with nymph droppers have been working quite well.  Hit the evening rise for the big drakes, fish love ’em.  For Dries try Green Drakes 8-10, Ants 10, Quigley Cripples 10-16 Caddis 14, E/C Caddis and Parachut Adams 10-16. For nymphs Green Drake nymphs, PT 12-16, Birdsnest 12-16, Mirco May 16-18, Stones 10, Midges 16-18, SJW’s, Caddis 14-16, Prince 10-14, 20 incher 8-10 and Haresear 10-14.  Streamers in the 6-10 range should work too.

North Yuba **** The flows are prefect here now and the mid-day temps were in the high 50’s.  The dry fly action is great the fish were into Ants, Stones, Mayflies, and Caddis nonstop all day.  This won’t last long as it may get too warm but, its sure fun now.  For dries try Ants 10, Caddis 12-14, Stimis 10-16, E/C Caddis 12-16, Parachute Adams 14-18, and Little Yellow Stones 14-16.

Milton Reservoir ***  Milton is still fishing quite good.  Mayflies, Midges, and Ants are the ticket on top.  Stripping nymphs or streamers is also producing fish.  For dries Parachute Adams 12-16, Quigely Cripples 12-16,  Ants 10, and Griffiths Gnat 16-20.  For nymphs PT 14-18.
