Fishing Report October 20, 2016

The recent storm has really been great for the fishing statewide.  Fish love a fresh shot of water to get them going especially Steelhead.  Currently, I am guiding Steelhead on the Klamath River in northern California.  The Steelhead are starting to arrive on the wave of the recent rains.  I have had some excellent days here in the north state.  Been using many different fly fishing techniques to dupe the adult and half-pounders roaming the Klamath river.  Swinging traditional patterns on the floating line or very light tip has been super effective.  Even got a couple on a skated fly!

In the Truckee area the river has dropped back to fishable shape and is kicking out some nice fish as they are trying to bulk up for winter.  I will be back in the Truckee Area around the beginning of November.  If you are looking for guide service in Truckee Area or Pyramid Lake call Jay Clark at 530-414-1655.

See you on the water,
