Just returned from a 10 day road trip out to Jackson Hole and East Idaho fishing meccas. What a trip! They have water this year and the fish were digging it. Started off on Flat creek for a little schooling in spring creek tactics and spooky fish. Then fished the snake from South Park down. The next day moved over to the Teton river for two more days of spring creek fun. Next, we went over the hill to Conat and the South fork of the snake where we ran into some stupid good fishing on pretty much anything, dries, nymphs, and streamers. Floated the canyon for two days in the rain and it was so good we voided our trip to Montana and and floated a section down low while our gear dried and then went back to the two-day float again. This time instead of awesome streamer fishing we enjoyed some amazing dry fly action each afternoon. Overall a really good fishing trip.
I will post a Truckee related post here in the next day after I fish around a bit. The water has gotten much lower since I left but the temps are still good for fishing. Had a nice thundershower last evening with some good rain. I have openings for this coming weekend so lets go fishing.
See you on the water,
