Nymphing Clinic May 30th, 2026

The Nymphing Clinic will cover Indicator(suspension nymphing) and Euro style(tightline) techniques. Basic points of when and where to use which style. And a few tips of our own introduced throughout the day. Perfect for the beginner to advanced angler.

Itinerary
  • 8am: Meet at Mountain Hardware and fill out releases and logs

  • 9am: Basic overview of Indicator and Euro styles and set ups.

  • 10:00 am:  Casting the two

  • 10:30 am:  When to use each. Water types

  • 11:00 am:  Weight and no weight

  • 12pm: Lunch

  • 1pm:  Put it together and fish

  • 2pm:  Where to fish: temperature, fast water, slow water

  • 3pm:  Dry/Dropper techniques

  • 4:30pm: Review and Questions

  • 5pm: Pack up and plan the next adventure

Full Day Clinic

  • $325/person 

  • 50% deposit required at time of booking

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Women's Only Clinic:  June 27th, 2026

This women's only clinic is perfect for the beginner to intermediate flyfisher focusing on the basics to get started, where to fish and what to fish. Rain or shine, we will head to the Truckee River on Saturday for an all-day fly fishing clinic.  Grab a friend and learn something new.

Itinerary
  • 8am: Meet at Mountain Hardware and fill out releases and logs

  • 9am: Basic Casting: overhead and roll

  • 10:30am: Set up different rigs: dry, dry dropper, and indicator

  • 12pm: Lunch

  • 1pm: What to fish: light entomology (“the bugs”)

  • 1:30pm: Where to fish: temperature, fast water, slow water

  • 2pm: Put it together and fish

  • 4:30pm: Review and Questions

  • 5pm: Pack up and plan the next adventure

Full Day Clinic

  • $325/person 

  • 50% deposit required at time of booking

Trout Spey Clinic:  July 19th, 2026

For the beginner to intermediate angler looking to get started in Trout Spey or review spey technique. We will cover why trout spey, setups for trout spey, casting, and presentations.  We will cover Skagit and Scandi lines, shooting head systems vs integrated lines, and throw some weighted tips to round out the day. 

Itinerary
  • 8:00  Meet at Mountian Hardware fill out release and logs

  • 8:30  Carpool to the site Rod and Line Selection

  • 10:00 Casting Roll, Snap T,  Double Spey

  • 12:30  Lunch

  • 1:00  Fly selection and Presentations

  • 2:30  Casting with tips

  • 4:30  Review​

  • 5:00  Wrap up and plan the next Adventure

Fly Fishing School

Attend Four Seasons Fly Fishing school for an in depth class that is a comprehensive guide of fly fishing techniques like casting, rigging, reading the water, knots and what trout eat.  Available anytime to fit you schedule.

  • We guarantee a low student to guide ratio by limiting our fly fishing clinics to three people per guide.

  • Full day field programs are offered for river or lake techniques.

  • One, two, and three day courses are available

  • Reservations are recommended

  • We practice catch and release fly fishing

Full Day School

  • One angler $570 or $385/person up to three

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Custom Clinics

Fly fishing clinics are great for all ability levels and can be customized to your needs. Casting, Basic Nymphing, Dry Fly, Trout Spey, and Euro Nymphing are available anytime.

 

  • We guarantee a low student to guide ratio by limiting our fly fishing clinics to three people per guide.

  • Full day field programs are offered for river or lake techniques.

  • Custom programs and larger groups can be arranged with advanced notice.

  • Reservations are recommended.

  • Rate depends on type of request.
