What a difference a week makes up here in Truckee. We are in the middle of a nice daytime temperature cool down. Compared to the July and August this is what we needed to cool the water down for better fishing on the Truckee and other venues of the area. It is pretty much groundhog day for Fly Fishing around here. Not to many changes to report. The Truckee has still got good flow as of this writing and continues to fish pretty well. The bugs are diffinately smaller and the fish are still looking up for these little morsels and some big ones too! Good presentation is key. We are in the "dog days" of summer up here in the Truckee-Tahoe Area. The weather is warm for us but we have had cool over night low temps. This combined with the days getting shorter is keeping the Truckee in good fishing condition for the first half of the day. Depending on where your at the upper two sections are getting too warm by noon. That would be Tahoe City to Donner Creek and Donner Creek down to the Boca inflow.
