Welcome to fall. It is pretty darn nice here lately with the mild weather we are experiencing. The rivers, creeks, and lakes are all pretty low. We haven't had a good rain for a while now. While the water levels are low there is some fishing to be had. The section of the Truckee river from Boca to Stateline is low and that should reduce the hiding places for the bigger trout lurking down there. Wielding a big ol streamer should get some love. Fall is in the air! Just a short update here from Truckee. I have been waiting for the water coming from Lake Tahoe to get turned down. Well, that process started yesterday and continued today. Don't know how low they are planning on dropping the flows. This changing will affect the sections from Tahoe City to Truckee and Truckee to Boca Bridge. Boce Bridge is pretty close to the same as they have turned up the outflow of Boca Reservoir to match what is now not coming f

What a difference a week makes up here in Truckee. We are in the middle of a nice daytime temperature cool down. Compared to the July and August this is what we needed to cool the water down for better fishing on the Truckee and other venues of the area.
