Truckee Tahoe Mid-Summer Fly Fishing Report July 7th, 2026
Great weather and great fishing has been the case these last couple of weeks. Last week was a little cooler and super nice. We continue to have nice overnight low airtemps and that keeps the water cooler for longer during the day. Truckee Tahoe Early Summer Fly Fishing Report June 19th, 2026
It has been pretty darn good out there. Water has stabilized on the Truckee River and surrounding creeks. While the Little Truckee remains a little high, it's not unfishable, just bigger than normal for this time of year. We have been in a bit of a warm spell the last week, and that has certainly brought the water temps up in the afternoon on the Truckee River from Tahoe City to the Boca inflow. Truckee Tahoe Later Spring Fly Fishing Report June 9th, 2026
The fly fishing in the area is heating up. Bugs are popping, flows are great, and water temps are perfect. The Truckee River has been shaping up nicely, and the fishing is great. The March Browns and Caddis are coming off in good numbers some days, and the fish are looking up, even when not much is going on. I've noticed the Stoneflies are getting active as well.
