Truckee Tahoe Later Spring Fly Fishing Report June 9th, 2026
The fly fishing in the area is heating up. Bugs are popping, flows are great, and water temps are perfect. The Truckee River has been shaping up nicely, and the fishing is great. The March Browns and Caddis are coming off in good numbers some days, and the fish are looking up, even when not much is going on. I've noticed the Stoneflies are getting active as well. Green Drakes should be showing up next. Super fun, but you may have to stay out late for them. Given the top water

Truckee Tahoe Late Spring Fly Fishing Report May 29th, 2026
Well, after several days of awesome spring weather leading up to Memorial Day weekend, we are back in the soggy days of spring. Love the extra water. We are in for another warm-up during the next week. Conditions are changing on the waters as the watermaster has reduced the flows from Lake Tahoe and some of the other inflows to the main Truckee River. Welcome to the second spring in Truckee. Everyone is out and about. The bears, the bugs, the flowers, and the anglers all enjoying the beautiful conditions that we currently have. Fish are being caught. More fish are coming off than landed. With the high flows it is very easy for them to take advantage of these conditions and just power away to freedom.
