This report will focus on the Truckee River and hit on some of the other venues in the Truckee area. Last week's rain gave everything a nice little boost and settled the dust temporairly. Conditions are still excellent for fly fishing on the Truckee water flows are still up and the water temps are perfect. And, it looks like a little more rain is coming this weekend. There are some hatches of small Mayflies, Caddis, and Midges during the day. The fish are still looking up even though they aren't rising as much. You can still get them to move for a well presented dryfly. It doesn't need to be fancy either the Parachute Adams gets it done pretty wel. The main setup is still the Drydropper for most of the day mainly cause I like to see the occasional fish crush a Chubby. Indicators are going to be better for floating the bigger flies and hunting the bigger fish in the Truckee River. And lets not forget about the streamers in your box. Pick your method or methods and get to work. If not on the Truckee then one of the other venues in the area.

Truckee River Conditions
Truckee River flows are currently 271 cubic feet per second above town, and below Boca inflow they are 473 cubic feet per second. Water temps are 62-64 degrees mid-day. Water clairity is good.
Truckee River Techniques
It is a good time to fish the Truckee River because all of the techniques are experiencing some succuss at various time of the day. Nymphing thoughout is still going to be the most productive. I like a dry/dropper rig. And the fish are still willing to eat a Dryfly it you put the time in or spot a rising fish. The streamer action is going to get better moving forward and is worth taking the time to work a few spots. Leroy is waiting for you.

Truckee River Summary
Thanks to the recent rain the Truckee River is in great shape. All of the different methods are catching fish. Dryfly, Drydropper, Nymphing, and Streamers are all worth trying right now. Get out and have some fun.
Other venues of the area
Again, A BIG THANKS to mother nature for giving us the rain last week which really helped all of the venues around the area. The area creeks got a little boost of water and have cooled a bit. They should be back in play for some solid Dryfly action. The reservoirs are also going to be worth hitting as the Kokanee and Browns start to stage their spawning runs in the coming weeks. Boca and Stampede inlets could have some good potential for the shore angler and well as the float tuber. And, lets not forget about the Smallmouth Bass in Stampede and Prosser. Bass like trout flies. My two favorite methods when fishing the stillwaters this time of year are 1) a intermediate sinking line with various streamers in the shallower areas around cover or 2) an indicator setup with a couple differnent nymphs or a balanced leech with a nymph in the deeper areas.
