We are going to have some big water this spring. Nymphing is the obvious choice for hooking a nice fish this time of year. Most of my bigger fish are caught this time with this type of flow. Fish Slow and Deep. Work the edges and anywhere fish can seek refuge from the faster water. Larger flies like the #RubberLegs in dark colors or even attractor patterns like the #SanJuanWorm are good choices to set your offering apart from the rest of the junk streaming by the fish. Traditional patterns like #FlashbackPT's and Tungsten #Haresears in bigger sizes are a couple of my favorites. Don't forget the split shot extra weight will be needed to get down and stay down. Tungsten bead head flies will also help. Good luck out there!
