Four Flies for the Truckee Tahoe Area in Winter

We are still in the middle winter here in the Truckee Tahoe area. These are four flies that are out and about now and have gotten it done for me in past seasons. #skwalastonefly, #bwomayfly, #zebramidge, and the #littlebrownstone are going to be the bulk of the insects coming off for the next month or so. The Stones and Midges are coming off most days in the afternoons the BWO's are looking for the overcast darker days. With the higher flows look for working fish or target the edges and slower pools. I like tandem setups either two dries or dry/dropper with the Zebra Midge or another heavy dark nymph.
